FIGHT TO SAVE TRESTLES

The Surfrider Foundation is currently working to prevent a proposed extension to the SR-241 toll road in South Orange County. If constructed as planned, this project would significantly impact the watershed ecosystem along San Mateo Creek, affecting some or all of the area’s 11 endangered or threatened species, cause a significant decline in upstream and near-shore water quality, potentially degrade the quality of the surfing resources at Trestles and result in the permanent loss or closure of 60% of the San Onofre State Beach Park grounds.
